Abstract
This article is based on the work of Paul A. Baran and Paul M. Sweezey: Monopoly Capital (Monthly Review Press 1966). The first section analyses the factors that determine output of monopolistic firms in the developed economies. Price is only one of seven factors and is not the most important factor to monopolies and near monopolies. In the second section the structure of the different sectors of the Irish Economy is analysed. It is clear from this analysis that the Irish Economy is dominated by monopolies and near monopolies.
The subject of your paper is indeed relevant for the discussion on Capital and Justice.
I would like to ask you two questions:
1) Which is the scope of the competition law institutional set up in the context of the Irish economy?
2) Which are the regulation agencies in the financial sector?
I would also like you to add the main bibliographical references of your resarch in the comments.
